I Quit and Returned to My Hometown, Where Fishing Let Me Win at Life

Programmer Chen Yue quits his job and returns to his village. On his very first day fishing, he reels in a huge haul. Fishing buddies gather to watch, streamers chase him with cameras, and fishmongers crowd his door. I just want to lie flat and enjoy retirement. Stop trying to make me a fishing legend!

On my first day back in the countryside, I casually cast my line by the river at the village entrance.

Other people can sit there all day without a bite, but the moment I cast, my line gets a hard tug.

The fishing buddies watching go from snickering to stunned. “But isn’t this river supposed to be fishless?”

I calmly reel in the fish, but inside, I’m baffled.

I can only vaguely see shadows underwater. How did I land such a huge haul?

When the other anglers ask me for tips and a beautiful streamer rushes over with her phone raised, I realize my retirement seems to have started ahead of schedule.
