I truly lived my life in this world
I never drifted through life or let my days pass in half-hearted fashion.
I made my way through the awkward, uncertain years of youth, through the bumpy road of school and internships. I lived each ordinary day in earnest. I once looked to the future with longing and burning hope, determined to carve out a bright, open path with my own two hands. I also struggled deeply, lost between choosing and being chosen, wavering between resentment and compromise, quietly persisting in a job I disliked, and holding on alone through days when I could see no clear direction.
I have known fear, hurt, the loneliness of being misunderstood, and the frustration of wanting something I could not have. Yet no matter how rough the road, I never stopped moving forward. Amid the ordinary bustle of everyday life, I slowly learned to shoulder things on my own, to be independent, to be strong, and to become my own shelter when there was no one to lean on.
There were no earth-shattering events or grand legends, only the truth of taking one step at a time. I cried, laughed, hoped, felt let down, persevered, and grew.
Looking back on the road I have traveled, I can say with an open heart: I truly lived my life in this world!
