[No System + No golden finger + No transmigration]
My name is Shen Mo, an ordinary person who would vanish in a crowd. I haven’t read much, can’t fight, have no connections or backing, and I’m even more timid than most.
One day, I open my eyes to find no skyscrapers, but gray-tiled roofs and earthen walls, coarse clothes, an awkward accent, and strict rules. I’ve arrived in the Ming Dynasty.
No System, no golden finger, no ability to foresee the future, and certainly no ambition to change the world. I’m afraid of officials, soldiers, and going hungry. I’m afraid that one wrong word will cost me my head, and that if someone bullies me, I won’t even have the strength to fight back.
All I’ve ever wanted is not a noble title or fame through the ages. I just want to stay alive.
Talk less and keep my head down. If others fight, I’ll stay out of it; if they grab for something, I’ll let them have it. I won’t show off, draw attention, make enemies, or cause trouble. If I have food, I’ll do everything I can to hold on to it. If I have a roof over my head, I’m content. Let people laugh at me for being spineless and timid. I’ll take it.
In this Ming Dynasty, a world in chaos, being a coward isn’t shameful. It’s a way to stay alive.
I just want a quiet, peaceful life, to get through one day at a time and live long enough to see the sun rise again.
But things don’t seem to be going the way I expected...
