After being reborn, the protagonist discovers that he is not the only "awakened one" - there are very few "destined ones" in this world. They either awaken their past life memories after a near-death experience, or they obtain "future fragments" under extreme emotional stimulation. But the rules are cruel: every time you use the prophetic ability to change your destiny, you will lose the corresponding life span. This forces the protagonist not to cheat uncontrollably, but to make a painful trade-off between "change" and "endurance".
