[A dream-girl story about Armed Detective Agency Dazai | Set in the author’s original alternate universe | OOC warning]
[Melancholy, gloomy Dazai ✖️ Insecure, sensitive Huaihuai]
Osamu Dazai had said “Come die with me” many times in his life, but he had never meant it.
Not until he met a girl named Huaihuai.
Not until he realized that, for the first time, he didn’t want to drag anyone else to their death.
Instead, he wanted to try to live for someone.
As he fought the Decay of Angels, every step shattered another of his own boundaries. Smiling, he pushed everyone else to shore, then sank back beneath the sea alone, returning to the boy he’d been at fifteen: silent, melancholy, with no interest in being alive.
He waited for a secluded corner, for the right moment, for the courage to finally go through with the suicide he’d put off for years.
Then he met Huaihuai, who came to him with a request.
Even when a thug set his sights on her, she didn’t cry. When she came to ask for help, she still smiled cautiously and asked, “Could I pay the fee with baked cookies?”
Everyone thought she was cheerful and optimistic.
Only Osamu Dazai could see it: like him, she was drowning.
But she chose to swim with all her might.
And he chose to sink.
[This is Osamu Dazai’s last double suicide.]
Not dying with her.
Giving up on dying for her.
The author's writing style is amazing, I really don't know how to say "I love you" 😢
