In 2242, the remnant soul of the ancient Taotie breaks through the seal of the ancient God of Cooking lineage. Using its own turbid qi, it creates the globally linked game known as the “Forbidden Zone of Strange Food,” forcing every sovereign nation on Blue Star to take part. The game is built around Chinese food customs, and every instance is formed when the Taotie’s turbid qi corrupts the cultural imprints of Chinese cuisine. They are filled with traps hidden in the rules, monstrous creatures that devour food, and deadly dangers. One chosen player is selected at random from each nation to enter an instance. Their progress and survival are directly linked in real time to their country’s fate, and the rewards and punishments are announced worldwide.
