In the near future, the ecology has deteriorated and desertification has become serious. The protagonist, finless porpoise, is a "fisherman" on the edge of the sand sea. He makes a living by fishing in underground rivers. As the waters dry up and the rare fish species Green Scales are on the verge of extinction, he decides to embark on a journey to find the "source of all water".
