In My Senior Year, My Future Daughter Got Me Wrapped Around Her Finger

On the first day of his senior year of high school, Lin Yi was driving his Maybach to an internet cafe when a girl in cosplay stopped his car at the school gate. “Dad, I transmigrated here from 2044. You can’t keep slacking off, or I won’t even get the chance to be born.” Lin Yi nearly tore the steering wheel off. He was only eighteen. How could he have a daughter? And one who had traveled back from twenty years in the future? The day the paternity test results came back, Lin Yi stared at the words “99.999% probability of a father-daughter relationship” and fell silent for a full three minutes. Then his grandfather flew in from overseas in the middle of the night. His first words after walking through the door weren’t to ask what was going on with his granddaughter, but: “Draw some blood first. I’ll get tested too.” From that day on, Lin Yi’s senior year was turned completely upside down. His future daughter kept a closer eye on him than his homeroom teacher: no sleeping in class, all his homework had to be finished, she took charge of his allowance, and she even blocked the entrance to the internet cafe. Even more absurdly, the whole family started revolving around this granddaughter who had dropped out of the sky, while he, their actual son, was reduced to a tool for opening doors and moving boxes. Yet Lin Xiaoxiao refused to answer the most important question: “Who’s your mom?” Zhao Yuwei, the campus belle? Ms. Shen, his tutor? Looking at this daughter who seemed more like an adult than he did, Lin Yi experienced for the first time what it meant to be “punished by the future.”
