Radiant, proud superstar vs. competitive business tycoon
A relationship shaped by their lovers, a romance between adults (Don't go by the tags, seriously.)
Qin Zhi was an orphan. With a refusal to give up and a face of stunning beauty, she fought her way to become a third-tier star at just nineteen.
Later, Fu Mingyu, the capital's golden boy, fell in love with this resilient young woman at first sight. He showered her with cars, houses, and money, spending fortunes on every project Qin Zhi took part in. At twenty-five, Qin Zhi crashed headfirst into the world of the capital's wealthy families, battered by their scorn.
An orphan who had longed for love since childhood, Qin Zhi was captivated by the pure love of her youth. That lasted until the day she heard someone at a bar say, “An actress isn't fit to be the mistress of the Fu family.” Qin Zhi chose to end her contract and leave.
Fu Mingyu thought she was just throwing a tantrum. He knew how much Qin Zhi valued her career, and he believed no one else in the capital could give her the resources and connections he could.
It wasn't until Qin Zhi left the capital for Hong Kong that Fu Mingyu sought out Zhao Yanci.
“Zhao Yanci.” His voice was hoarse, flecked with blood. “Who do you think you are? Do you think you can protect her for the rest of her life?”
“Maybe I really can't protect her for the rest of her life.” Zhao Yanci tossed his handkerchief into the trash, turned, walked back to his desk, and sat down. “But I'll make sure Qin Zhi doesn't need anyone to protect her.”
Leaning back in his chair, he looked at Fu Mingyu sprawled on the floor and gave a slight smile. “In the future, Qin Zhi will sit at the head of the table when deals are negotiated in the cutthroat world of fame and fortune.”
A year later, when the call connected again, a man's voice came from the other end. “Mr. Fu, what do you want with my wife?”
