[Transmigration] [Two Worlds] [Historical Mystery] [Love Across Worlds] [Rise from the Bottom]
Shen Mo, 24, graduated from a second-tier university with a history degree. He lives in a cramped handshake apartment in the urban village, is on his third attempt at the graduate school entrance exam, and is so broke he can't pay rent.
After staying up all night studying, he wakes to find a knife in front of him. He has transmigrated, becoming a deserter in the Great Yan frontier army, condemned to execution. His name is Shen Mo, too.
Using the Great Yan Frontier Notes, a book he'd memorized inside and out, he escapes death and becomes a scout. He assumes it's just a dream that feels far too real, until he realizes that the history book is quietly changing with every choice he makes.
Even stranger, he receives a package from ancient times: an old jade pendant engraved with the character "Shen."
Time passes at the same rate in both worlds. In ancient times, he earns merit by killing the enemy; in the modern world, his landlord hounds him for rent. In ancient times, he finds brothers willing to live and die with him; in the modern world, he meets a girl who understands him. In ancient times, he is hunted; in the modern world, the academic community questions him.
And the history book states in black and white: "Shen Mo died fighting bravely at the Battle of Camel Ridge, age twenty-five."
That day is only three hundred days away.
He must figure out: Which of the two worlds is real? What did the transmigrator from three hundred years ago leave behind? If he changes history, how will the history book change? If his death is inevitable, should he still fall in love with the woman from ancient times and the women in the modern world?
As his memories begin to merge, and he can no longer tell whether he's a modern-day loser or an ancient scout captain, he stands on Camel Ridge, facing a sea of enemy troops, and closes his eyes.
When he opens them again, who will be standing before him?
