Arknights: My Name Is Don Quixote

The youngest child of the Nearl Family was born frail, but dreamed of becoming a knight. Yet before he was old enough to pursue that dream, he was attacked by villains and contracted Oripathy.

“It’s all right, everyone.”

Though still young, this child possessed a quality others did not. To spare his family any trouble, he chose to leave them of his own accord.

“But before I go, could you give me a title, Uncle?”

It was his only wish before leaving home, so of course his uncle agreed. He asked, “What would you like to be called?”

“I think I’ll be called… Don Quixote.”

The inspiration should be obvious: it comes from the classic novel Don Quixote. I reread it recently and, for some reason, found it quite moving.

The only flaw in this Arknights fanfic of mine is that the reason for leaving home feels a little far-fetched, so I hope readers won’t scrutinize it too much.

The female lead is Luo Yuxi. This is a slice-of-life novel.

The protagonist won’t truly start confusing delusions with reality and unconsciously using his Originium Arts until after his first Oripathy episode.
