A Sincere Heart Seeks Love

Shen Chenxiang, an apprentice at the Luozhen medicine shop, is quiet and reserved but sharp-witted, with an innate affinity for medicinal herbs. His peaceful life is shattered by a sudden epidemic. After even his master falls ill, Shen works day and night, brewing remedies from a worn, handwritten prescription, and single-handedly brings the outbreak in the town under control. But his achievement draws the greed of a local bully, who tries to seize the prescription. At the critical moment, a gaunt old Daoist, gravely ill and wandering through the area, comes to his rescue: Master Gergen. The old Daoist sees that Shen carries a sealed Medicine Spirit Constitution, making him a once-in-a-century prodigy of alchemy. He decides to take Shen away and lead him onto the path of immortality.
