The Lehuan Family

Told in a lighthearted, humorous style, this book follows the warm everyday life of a blended family. Library director Wen Xing and bookstore owner Le Huan bring their children together to form a new family. With Le Huan’s cheerful, optimistic grandfather, retired factory director Le Kaiwen, the five of them begin a new life filled with both laughter and tears. The aloof top student Wen Rou and her basketball-loving stepbrother Le Lin go from constantly competing and clashing to gradually finding their rhythm and looking out for one another. Wen Xing is thoughtful and perceptive, though a little short on everyday warmth, while Le Huan is funny and kindhearted, with a knack for smoothing things over. Grandfather Le Kaiwen, with the wisdom and humor of the older generation, becomes the family’s anchor. With no melodramatic conflicts, the story uses everyday mishaps to explore the art of getting along as stepparents, children, and spouses. Through bickering, understanding, and companionship, it shows viewers how families can communicate and take responsibility for one another. In the warmth of daily life, the family heals and grows together, using love and understanding to show what “family” truly means. This is an uplifting, heartwarming, and joyful urban comedy.
