The geography of the world is nothing but the traces of Yu.
At that time, Dayu controlled the flood and rescued Kyushu from the flood that swallowed up the world. He dredged nine rivers and guided hundreds of rivers. From then on, rivers flowed eastward, mountains and rivers were in place, and human settlements began to grow on both sides of the rivers. Every inch of land that King Yu walked on became the place of origin and the way back for future generations.
This story also begins with a road traveled by King Yu.
It is an ancient road that runs across the ridge of the eastern section of the Qinling Mountains. The locals call it Languan Road. From the Guanzhong Plain to the southeast, pass Lantian, cross the Qinling Mountains, go down to Nanyang, and pass through Jingxiang. For two thousand years, officials were relegated, caravans came and went, and armies conquered, all passed through this mountain. The mountain is still the same as when King Yu controlled the floods, but the road has long been worn smooth and shiny by thousands of feet.
When the story begins, it is the winter of the fourteenth year of Yuanhe.
That year, the heavy snow in the twelfth lunar month sealed the Qinling Mountains' Seventy-two Valleys and also the Languan Road.
