Wang Zi'an on Gaoting Mountain

The story begins with Wang Zi'an holding the pass at Gaoting and riding a crane across the land. Hangzhou and the vast mountains and rivers of China become both an immortal's sanctuary and a stage for history, forming a grand tapestry where the legacy of the immortal path intertwines with the dynasties of the mortal world.

At the heart of the story lies the Southeast Immortal Vein, hidden among the mountains and waters of Gaoting and stretching from ancient times to the present. Whoever obtains it can bring peace to a region and accomplish great deeds for generations; whoever loses it will see their lands shattered and their dynasty overthrown. As Wang Zi'an travels the world, emperors and generals, eminent monks and renowned scholars, immortals and ghosts all play out their love and hatred, their joys and sorrows, beneath the light of this single thread of vital energy, composing a symphony of heaven, earth, humanity, and the divine that spans the ages.
