Treading the Dao in Search of Heaven

Lu Qing, a boy from a remote mountain village, was born frail. To give him a chance at survival, his parents sent him to work as a menial in the nearby small sect, the Greenwood Sect. At the bottom of the sect, he suffered constant bullying. By chance, while cleaning the library, he found a damaged jade slip containing a fragment of an unnamed cultivation technique. Lu Qing secretly practiced it. His progress was slow, but his foundation was solid. Three years later, the sect was attacked by a small demonic faction. In the chaos, Lu Qing saved the severely wounded elder responsible for passing on the sect's teachings. With his dying breath, the elder gave him half of a Mountain and River Token and told him it was connected to an opportunity in a secret realm that appeared once every hundred years.
