I, the Holy Demon Mage, Just Want to Live a Peaceful Life

"Laid-Back Schemer, Secret Identities, Play the Pig to Eat the Tiger, Big Shot Pretends to Be a Newcomer, Everyday Reversals"

My name is Deep Blue. I’m a Holy Archmage, one of the Ten Sages.

But only seven people in the whole world know that.

On the surface, I’m a nominal professor at Deep Blue Magic Academy, with zero teaching hours all year. My daily routine consists of feeding fish, sunbathing, and being mocked by students as the “Sage of Slacking Off.”

In secret, I’m the true guildmaster of the Deep Blue Tower, one of the Ten Great Guilds.

Guild business? Let the vice guildmaster handle it.

A meeting of the Sages? Send a stand-in.

Dark forces show up at my door? Let my ambitious higher-ups get some practice dealing with them first.

My principles are simple: if I can lie down, I won’t sit up; if I can work behind the scenes, I won’t step into the spotlight.

But lately, things have started to go wrong...

That new student with “no magical aptitude” seems suspicious.

The female teacher from the class next door was spotted late at night at a secret meeting of the Guixu Society.

The Holy Sanctuary sent people to investigate the academy, claiming they suspect someone with “Sage-level combat power” is hiding on campus.

And my guild’s higher-ups have been giving me increasingly peculiar looks lately.

For the third time, the vice guildmaster has “run into” me at the academy. With a sunny smile, he asks:

“Guildmaster, how long do you plan to keep feeding fish by the lake?”

I sigh and scatter another handful of fish food into the water.

I just want to feed some fish in peace. Why is that so hard?
