Zeng Yao was an ordinary young man born under an inauspicious fate in the city. A car accident dragged him to the brink of death, but at the end of the underworld tunnel, Zhong Kui stopped him. “Your time has not yet come. We’ll meet in your dreams tomorrow.” From then on, Zeng Yao was forced into the strange whirlpool between the worlds of yin and yang. He inherited Zhong Kui’s legacy, using talismans to suppress evil and spiritual powers to drive out demons. His grandfather, Zeng Afu, a successor to the Five Immortal Riders, secretly paved the way for him. Beneath the city’s neon lights, evil spirits lurked among feng shui arrangements, while Taoist factions fought each other in the open and behind the scenes. From a clueless rookie to a modern-day judge of the dead who commands yin and yang, wields talismans, and controls a hundred ghosts, Zeng Yao battles thousand-year-old monsters with nothing but his own flesh and blood. He carves a bloody path between terror and faith, ultimately becoming the Living Yama who strikes fear into both worlds!
