"Broken Jade and Cicadas" tells the story of Lin Weiran, the number one academic bully in grade, and Jiang Yi, the "school bully" who accidentally intertwined due to a campus bullying incident in a key high school.
Lin Weiran's world originally consisted of formulas and test points, but when she saw Jiang Yi protecting a girl who was being bullied, she got a glimpse of the complex edges and corners beneath his arrogant appearance. Jiang Yi is a troubled boy who is "proficient" in fighting and skipping classes. The scar on his left brow hides an unknown past. The iodophor and gauze always in his pocket imply that he has long been used to licking his wounds alone. A "pairing assistance" forced the two to get closer. In addition to dense annotations, there were also clumsy cicada and lightning graffiti on the wrong question book in the library; during the confrontation in the old warehouse, Jiang Yi used his scarred back to shield Lin Weiran from danger, revealing that he was not born violent, but was accustomed to wrapping softness with his fists.
As the contact deepened, Lin Weiran discovered that Jiang Yi was actually the long-lost son of the dean, Chen Yi, and half a piece of jade revealed the shadow of an abandoned childhood; and Jiang Yi also wanted to put away his edge for someone for the first time and pick up the textbook because of Lin Weiran's insistence. This is a story about redemption and growth: the school bully uses knowledge and tenderness to dismantle the hard shell of the school bully, and the school bully uses clumsy protection to hold up the clear sky for the school bully. In each other's light, the two lonely souls learn to reconcile with the past and walk side by side toward the examination room called "the future."
