A Stand-In Beneath the Moon

The moment Lin Nian signed that contract was the most valuable moment of her life.

One million. Three months. Pretend to be a dead woman.

Gu Xicheng gave her the finest house to live in and the most expensive clothes to wear, but whenever he looked at her, he saw someone else through her face.

The photo by his bed showed a woman who looked exactly like her.

The name in his phone belonged to her older sister.

The name he called out in his dreams was also her sister's.

Lin Nian told herself: A substitute is just a substitute. Money for services, and neither of us owes the other anything.

But she didn't know why she made him hangover soup when he was drunk.

She didn't know why, on the rooftop, she said, "In three months, I'll make you forget her."

She didn't know why, when she saw the letter "L" on the back of that photo, her heart hurt as if it were being squeezed.

Then Gu Xicheng's mother came to visit and revealed the secret hidden beneath the moonlight

"You and Ruoruo have the same father."

"You're a daughter of the Lin family, too."

"The woman you were hired to impersonate is your older sister."

In the deepest part of the night, another pair of eyes was watching her.

That person smiled and said softly:

"The day Ruoruo died, I was at the seaside."

"I didn't save her."

"Do you think I'll spare you?"

The moonlight can illuminate everything.

But it can't reach the deepest place in a person's heart.
