"The Wild Monkey" is a humorous adventure novel that combines Eastern mythology and American western pioneering. The story begins in 1875. Sun Wukong, who had completed the study of scriptures from the West, lost control of his experiment in heaven. He traveled to the Wild West with the white dragon horse Zhui Feng, and his magic power was greatly reduced. In order to make a living and find a way to return home, Sun Wukong transformed into the bounty hunter "Big Dart Monkey" to punish rape and eliminate evil in Tombstone Town. The West is not peaceful: the legendary bandit leader Jesse James colludes with the Eastern monster Black Wind Laoyao to compete for the "Five Elements Mine" that contains the energy of time travel.
