Broken Moonlight, Fragmented Memories

Bank clerk Fang Wan is targeted by Lu Chen, a financial tycoon consumed by a pathological obsession with her waist-length hair. As a child, Lu Chen witnessed his mother, who came from Sucheng, take her own life. Haunted by the memory, he sees Fang Wan as her double and takes her by force. Fang Wan is deeply in love with her childhood sweetheart, Lin Che, a struggling actor on the fringes of the entertainment industry. She has no idea that Lu Chen's promises of fame and fortune are leading Lin Che down a dark path, until he finally breaks his vows for the sake of his career. When Lu Chen cannot have her, he sets a massive loan-fraud trap that lands Fang Wan in prison, where he subjects her to every humiliation. At her lowest point, lawyer Shen Que arrives at Lin Che's request. With courage and ingenuity, he finds the crucial evidence and clears Fang Wan's name. Drawn to each other, they give Fang Wan a fresh start and become engaged. Lu Chen goes completely mad. He uses his underworld connections to torture and kill Shen Que, then covers it up as a car accident. Devastated by the loss of the man she loves, Fang Wan leaves the capital, her heart dead. She does not know that the demon's gaze has never left her. A video recording Shen Que's gruesome death plays on in silence, hidden from view, as the storm rages without end.
