Lin Yi accidentally transmigrates into a parallel world of Armor Hero. He thinks he'll get a System, summon armor, marry a rich beauty, and reach the peak of life. But the System reveals from the start that he's merely “fusion material,” a disposable flesh-and-blood vessel for the “Emperor in Person,” the supreme ruler of the Realm of Light, to descend to Earth. To escape his doomed fate, Lin Yi uses his knowledge of the plot and his “Variable System” to tear up the script amid a tangled struggle between light and shadow. He not only befriends “strategist” Xin Nan, but also unexpectedly ends up owing the mysterious, scheming heroine Xia Wanqing 1.1 million yuan and is forced to work it off. As he fights against his destined fate, Lin Yi grows from a cowardly, death-fearing chuunibyou into a true hero, ultimately breaking the game of light and shadow, ruling both universes, and winning the heart of the woman he loves.
