In 1920, a mysterious fog swept across the globe from beyond Antarctica’s ice wall. Civilization fell, and the world was overturned.
Two years later, deep in the Mariana Trench, humanity discovered its first mythical creature: Leviathan, the “Dragon of Chaos.” From then on, the supernatural returned, the gods awoke, and the mortal realm became a battlefield for divine wars.
Daxia established the “139 Special Biological Response Unit,” later reorganized as the “Night Watchers.” With their flesh and blood, they built a line of defense along the nation’s borders. In 1980, India’s divine artifact, “Shiva’s Grudge,” appeared, attracting the covetous gaze of the gods. The special unit “Mind Roamers” was wiped out, paying a terrible price to protect their homeland. In 1987, the outer gods invaded again, and Commander-in-Chief Nie Zhen fell in battle. In 2012, Zeus, king of the Greek gods, foretold the coming of “Ragnarok” and joined forces with the Norse gods to launch the Third Divine War. Cangnan City was reduced to ruins in Gaia’s fury, only to miraculously recover beneath the “Mortal Divine Domain” of the seraph Michael.
Now it is 2021.
A new Night Watcher training camp is about to begin. More than three hundred Awakened from across Daxia will gather here for a year of brutal trials. Some come seeking revenge, some fight to protect, and some simply hope to find a place to shelter before the apocalypse arrives.
