Shen Yu knows he’s living in a matriarchal romance novel.
He is the heroine Su Wei’s idealized first love, the husband every noblewoman in the capital dreams of, and the tragic beauty from the original story who is forced to marry beneath his station after the heroine relentlessly pursues him, only to become a caged songbird in her household.
Until his memories awaken and he sees the comments scrolling across the screen.
So, when he first meets Su Wei at the Temple of the Protector of the Nation and she approaches with a bowl of bird’s nest soup laced with drugs, Shen Yu turns around and climbs through a window into the neighboring meditation courtyard.
And comes face to face with Princess Fengxi, the seriously wounded woman who has just been ambushed and is tending to her own injuries.
Mu Qingge, the only daughter of the Grand Princess and the Empress’s most beloved niece, took command of the Luan Shadow Guards at nineteen. She is the only woman in the entire book who never falls for Shen Yu.
Her bloodied fingers press against his lips. “Don’t make a sound.”
As comments flood past, [Our career-focused girl!!] and [She’ll be your greatest backer in the future], Shen Yu calmly speaks over Su Wei’s knocking.
“I’ll save you. You help me ‘die of illness.’”
Mu Qingge looks up, her peach-blossom eyes reflecting the cinnabar mole at the corner of his eye, identical to her own.
“Deal.”
Shen Yu (cool and refined · clear-headed and rational · idealized first love who’s sweet on the outside, scheming within) VS Mu Qingge (carefree and refined · career-focused · beautiful, strong, and tragic princess)
The writing seems pretty good, but the content is a bit hazy. Give it four stars to encourage it.
I quite like their pulling and pulling, but the author's writing feels a bit lacking, and it's a bit foggy. Keep up the good work.
It's so beautiful. Two people must be happy.
