Journey to the West: Rebel Disciple of the Jie Sect, Please Stop Holding Back

Journey to the West is nearing its end, but a major event has shaken the Three Realms: that traitor from the Jie Sect has returned. The whole Three Realms is in an uproar. On the surface, the Buddha of Many Treasures sits primly at Mount Sumeru, calm and composed. Behind closed doors, though, he’s weeping bitterly. He’s been keeping up the act for an entire kalpa, and he can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. In the Heavenly Court Treasury, Zhao Gongming is inventorying the treasures like the back of his hand. He drops the act and comes clean: the magical treasures and spiritual items he’s been hoarding all these years are finally going to be useful. A million Heavenly Soldiers and Generals are stationed outside Golden Turtle Island, yet Yang Jian is inside, drinking tea and chatting with that traitor. Beside the Moon Laurel, the fearsome Wu Gang tosses aside his axe and brazenly heads down to the mortal realm. When Fairy Chang'e transforms into the Lunar Demon God and joins the Jie Sect. When the Peacock Great Bright King swallows the Eight Treasures Merit Pool in one gulp. When the lid of Yunxiao’s coffin, buried beneath Qilin Cliff, is blasted open, the Saints of the Heavenly Dao finally realize that Yunxiao has been stealing a whole kalpa’s worth of fortune from beneath the Jade Void Palace. With Tathagata Buddha defecting from the faith, the Two Saints of the West can only have the Victorious Fighting Buddha take his place and oversee Buddhism’s fortunes. Ahem. Could this monkey also be one of that traitor’s hidden aces?
