Beyond Mortals and Demons

A simple, honest young man from deep in the mountains enters a forbidden land to save his sick younger sister. A streak of black spreads through his bones and into his eyes. From then on, he sees the world's vital energy surging like rivers and streams, and glimpses the malice in people's hearts flowing like filthy blood. The immortal sects call him a born demon seed, simply because his fiery spiritual root lets him cultivate at astonishing speed. But in his eyes, the spiritual energy surrounding the supposedly righteous sects is tangled with bloodshed, while beneath the radiance of ascension, resentful souls wail. Then the day of heavenly tribulation arrives, and the apparition of an immortal appears in the clouds. “Mortals we have raised in the lower realm, the time has come. You are to be harvested, ” Yang Lin looks up with a cold smile, black flames burning in his eyes. “So the gods and buddhas filling the heavens are the greatest demons of all.”
