Beneath the Shrine: The Fate-Defying God Feeder

[Cthulhu + Dystopia + Dark Fantasy + Mysterious + Suspense]

The gods are wailing, and we call it a miracle.

If you see a statue of a god turn its eyes in a pool of water, never look back.

I am the lowliest night watchman in the temple. On a night of ash rain, a black sheep wept, and I was sentenced to die in seven days as a sacrifice for the Blood Moon.

They praise this as divine grace, but from beneath the earth I hear a dying god's rasping cry: “Save me...”

Worship is imprisonment; sacrifice is suppression.

Three hundred years of sacred cycles, all lies piled atop corpses.

Seven days on the countdown. My pocket watch ticks backward, and my dagger trembles. Should I wait like a lamb for death, or take up the butcher's blade and break the pact?

The day the sacrifice turns on the gods, the Blood Moon will shine upon every secret.

In the name of the night watch, I will awaken the imprisoned gods and topple this entire city of sacrifice!
