The Leshan Giant Buddha Was Actually Leshan Yu the Great

Ling Shuang, a doctoral student in archaeology, discovers a coded inscription inside the Leshan Giant Buddha and proves that the statue was originally a monument commemorating Emperor Yu's flood-control efforts. While deciphering it, she triggers a space-time rift and tumbles into the “Historical Rift Layer” alongside Lei Feng, a retired soldier: a parallel world twisted by the alteration of civilization's history. The two discover that behind the spread of Buddhism lies a thousand-year conspiracy by the “History Tamperers' Alliance.” They weakened the spirit of “humanity can triumph over nature,” symbolized by Yu the Great, and implanted the idea of submission to reincarnation. Even more astonishingly, the Journey to the West is an allegorical record of real historical events: Sun Wukong is a stone monkey transformed from the one Yu the Great suppressed beneath the river during his flood-control efforts, while Tang Sanzang is descended from the “Keepers of the Stele,” charged with safeguarding the truth of history. On their journey west, Lei Feng and Ling Shuang reunite with the awakened Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing. Bajie reveals that when he was Marshal Tianpeng, he witnessed the pact between the Tathagata and Yu the Great. Sha Seng's skull necklace is actually a “memory relic” recording the truth of antiquity. Tang Sanzang, meanwhile, has long since lost his true self through reincarnation, becoming Jin Chanzi, a puppet of the History Tamperers. When the group reaches the Buddha's hidden sanctuary, they see the Tathagata's golden body crack open, revealing the true form of Yu the Great's stone statue within. It turns out that the Tathagata was once Yu the Great's comrade in flood control. He took the form of a Buddha statue to protect the truth, but the History Tamperers twisted his teachings. The final battle unfolds in the rift in history. Lei Feng uses modern technology to restart the “Nine Cauldrons Space-Time Array” left behind by Yu the Great, while Ling Shuang uses her archaeological knowledge to repair the break in civilization. Sun Wukong smashes the false scriptures with a single blow, and the true scriptures transform into golden light, revealing Yu Gong's map of flood control once more… This adventure through myth is not only a test of love and faith, but also a grand return to the source spirit of Chinese civilization.
