We Never Missed Each Other's Youth

In her first year of high school, Su Wan fell for Lu Xingci, the boy who sat in front of her.

For three years, she kept her feelings to herself, filling page after page of scrap paper, but never daring to say them aloud.

She thought she was the only one who felt this way.

Until graduation day, when she confessed with tears in her eyes:

“I like you.”

The tips of the boy’s ears turned red, and his voice trembled ever so slightly.

“I like you too.”

It turned out that all those quiet moments of getting closer

had been a tenderness he’d planned for all along.

From school uniforms to university, from a fluttering heart to a lifetime together.

Thank goodness neither of us let the other slip away.
