The long-lost daughter of the Huo family has finally been found, but she’s a “fake fortune-teller” who used to set up a stall on an overpass?
Lu Jianchu looked at the Huo family mansion shrouded in black qi, then at her biological parents, whose faces were full of disdain, and her two brothers, who wore the exact same look. She fell into deep thought.
She held up five fingers. “Five million to sever our family ties. I’ll save your whole family’s lives.”
Her offer was met with scoffs and the sound of a door slamming shut.
Fine. Lu Jianchu packed up her sign and turned to leave. The price for her divination had been set; they could bear the consequences themselves.
But with not a penny to her name, she soon found herself on the streets, running from the city inspectors.
Lu Jianchu: “Hey, hey, Officer! Your love star is shining bright. You’ll be tying the knot this month!”
Inspector A: “I knew you were a fraud. I don’t even have a girlfriend, so who am I supposed to marry? Move along! You can’t set up a stall here!”
At the end of the month, the inspectors were desperately searching the streets for the master!
Lu Jianchu: “Eek, there are so many ghosts! I’m scared!”
A member of a team in a mysterious department of China: “Do you hear yourself? You punch one vengeful ghost after another. What on earth are you scared of?”
Ghost: “Waaah, we’re even more scared, okay?”
Lu Jianchu glanced at the SOS text from the Huo family on her phone, then at the exorbitant consultant contract the department had drawn up, and sighed softly.
If you’d just paid the five million up front, none of this would have happened.
It's really beautiful and the heroine is super strong. Recommended
