Su Nian noticed Lin Xu on the first day he transferred to another school.
He stood at the podium to introduce himself, and the sunlight slanted in through the window, illuminating his whole body. She lowered her head and only dared to look out of the corner of her eye. Her heartbeat was so loud that she was afraid that her deskmate would hear it.
Later they became friends.
He would help her take out the trash when she was on duty, and would write math problems she couldn't solve on scratch paper and push it over to her.
She kept all this in mind and wrote it on the last page of her diary, drawing a small flower next to it.
But he said nothing.
On graduation day, she stood at the school gate and waited for a long time. When everyone was gone, she saw him running out of the teaching building.
"Su Nian!" He gasped, holding a piece of paper in his hand, "Where are you taking the exam?"
She named a city.
He was stunned for a moment, then smiled: "Oh, it's so far."
Later she found out that he went to school in the city next door, only two hours by train.
But what she didn't know was that what he wanted to say was written on the unsent note.
At the class reunion ten years later, he got drunk.
Someone asked him if he had a crush on someone back then. He lay on the table and muttered: "Don't talk nonsense... She studies so well, so we can't disturb her..."
Everyone laughed.
She also smiled, her eyes welling up as she smiled.
He suddenly raised his head and stared at her, his eyes red:
"Su Nian, you know... I've even thought about the names of our children."
The box was quiet.
She was stunned and her heart skipped a beat.
It turns out that the thoughts that she carefully hid all those years were never her secret.
It's super pretty. Go and try it.
