The Human Emperor Is Mine, and My Fortune Burns Me Alive

I am the drought demon everyone in Dongyi despises.

My birth brought a thousand miles of scorched earth. They locked me underground and tormented me without mercy.

Only my mother protected me with her life, and in the end she died before the pyre where I was to be sacrificed.

Heaven turned a blind eye. The gods said nothing.

I hated the injustice of this world. I hated that my life was worth no more than grass.

As the flames consumed me, he came bearing light.

Silver armor, a long spear, and the Human Emperor’s Sword shaking the four quarters.

He was the most dazzling young king of Great Shang. He believed neither in Heaven nor fate, only in himself.

“They say you’re a demon. I don’t believe them.”

“Anyone who dares lay a hand on you makes an enemy of me, Di Xin.”

He took me away from hell and promised me a peaceful life.

I once prayed for a god to descend from heaven. Only later did I realize:

Di Xin was my god.

But I didn’t know that I was the reincarnation of an ancient drought goddess.

The gods wanted me dead, and Heaven demanded my life.

To protect me, he defied the world and challenged the Heavenly Dao.

He built the Deer Terrace for me, burning up the fortune of all his people.

For me, he defied fate and shattered the Human Emperor’s Sword.

At last, amid the flames of the Deer Terrace, he burned away all his dragon energy and traded his life for my peace in the next life.

“By the name of the Human Emperor, I trade for her freedom from all calamity and a lifetime of peace.”

Meet a very different Human Emperor, Di Xin.
