The protagonist Ling Feng started out as an "infant judge". Because he has no father or mother, he has natural doubts about Konoha's so-called "will of fire". He does not take sides or make alliances, and looks at the disputes in the ninja world from an absolutely rational "bystander" perspective. His growth is not to become a hero, but to eliminate all "junk" that threatens the order, and eventually becomes a hidden deterrent over the Five Shadows.
