A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: From the Start, I Was Planted with an Immortality Tree

[Traditional cultivation]

Huang Ce had no spiritual roots. The moment he was born, his mother forced a jin of liquor down his throat, then smothered him beneath a ten-jin wet cotton quilt. Poor little thing, less than a month into his life and already facing a bitter end.

An old man in the village saw how pitiful the child was. He had no children of his own and was already in his seventies or eighties, so he took Huang Ye in...

Holding the baby, the old man looked at his tightly clenched fists and the stubborn corners of his mouth, refusing to give in to death, and laughed heartily.

“What a stubborn nature. You’re only a month old, and already you dare challenge Heaven and fight it tooth and nail. If I let you live for eternity, wouldn’t you punch a hole right through the sky? Very well, I’ll grant you a stroke of fortune...”

So the old man reluctantly took a seed from the precious gourd at his waist and planted it inside the baby.

This seed was called Eternal Life.
