The story is undergoing a major revision...
On the seventh day, a global virus outbreak sent zombies swarming and cities falling. Humanity was nearly wiped out.
Lu Chen stood on the roof, watching flames soar beyond the mountains.
Then he looked down and saw his own yard: lush bamboo, chickens running about, and fresh air.
The meteorite was lying right beside his feet.
“Three thousand years... I've finally found carbon-based life... Though its aptitude is worse than a pig's... I have no other choice!”
Lu Chen: ???
Three months later, the first group of survivors fled to the village entrance and fell to their knees.
“Isn't this supposed to be the apocalypse? Why does everyone in your village look so healthy? What are you growing in those fields? And what are those things flying in the sky?”
Lu Chen squatted on the hillside behind his house, gnawing on a chicken leg as he looked at the new sign hanging in the village:
“Qingshi Cultivation Village, No Visitors Beyond This Point.”
Later, the government arrived, then the army. Cultivation was industrialized, and spiritual-energy mechs took to the skies.
Later still, the main alien fleet arrived.
Lu Chen stood on that hillside and raised his hand.
Behind him, eight million cultivators raised their hands at once.
While everyone else was fleeing for their lives in the apocalypse, I was farming back home.
When they finally reached the village entrance, they found the whole village flying.
