"Midnight Asylum"
I am the host of Wang Feng's late-night radio show. I stand in front of the microphone every night, waiting for calls from those souls who can't sleep. I am not responsible for solving puzzles, nor do I believe in ghosts and gods. I am only responsible for listening and repeating. Listeners recounted their experiences on the airwaves: the girl in red whom they met at a convenience store at three in the morning, the scratching of fingernails heard in the attic of an old house, and the taxi that repeatedly appeared in the rearview mirror... These stories were so bizarre that it was difficult to tell whether they were true or false. But as the program progressed, I began to find something wrong - the details of some stories surprisingly overlapped with long-forgotten nightmares in my childhood memories; and those who called, after telling the stories, completely disappeared from reality, as if they had never existed. I originally thought I was just a bystander, an indifferent narrator, until one day, I heard my own voice in the background noise of the microphone, telling a horror story that I had never heard but was happening...
