Lin Bei is twenty-five, a veteran 996 wage slave, and lives by the motto: “If I can lie down, I won’t sit up. If I can crack a joke, I won’t be serious.”
One morning, crammed into the subway and scrolling through short videos, he sees a news story about “sea levels rising by twenty thousand meters.” He casually comments, “Why not just turn Earth into a seafood hot pot? I’ll be the first to volunteer as the broth.”
Then the seawater comes.
The whole world is flooded. A System descends, giving everyone a raft and a fishing rod and forcing them to survive at sea.

On his first cast, he doesn’t catch a fish. He reels in an unconscious woman.
Lin Wanqiu has the S-rank talent “Ruler of the Ocean,” an extremely haughty disposition, and overwhelming combat power. The first thing she does when she wakes up is throw Lin Bei over her shoulder.
“You lecher.”
Lin Bei lies sprawled on the ground, close to tears. “I saved you, and you throw me? What kind of logic is that?”
And so begins the “life together” at sea between a wisecracking, smooth-talking champion and a violent, domineering beauty who would rather throw a punch than say a word.
While others risk their lives for a bite to eat, Lin Bei ponders a serious philosophical question:
How can he get this queen to lose her temper less often?
While others are being hunted by sea beasts, Lin Wanqiu ponders another serious question:
How can she get this smart-mouthed guy to shut up?
Later, they meet the unlucky girl Lin Xiaoyu, who seems to have a lucky koi spirit watching over her, and an S-rank
