During the Chui Gong period of the Tang Dynasty, Luoyang, the sacred capital, seemed prosperous, but in fact there was an undercurrent. Pei Juanyan, the school inspector of Dali Temple, was originally a descendant of a run-down noble who just wanted to live his life and receive a salary, but he was involved in the whirlpool of power because of a strange incident in which "a Buddha statue wept blood". The huge stone Buddha in Longmen Temple in Xishan screamed in the middle of the night, and dark red blood flowed from his eyes. Rumors spread that the emperor was not in the right position. Pei Juanyan was forced out by her boss to take the blame for investigating the case. He found a broken piece of incense in the stone Buddha's ear hole, and dug out a skinned corpse under the Buddha's seat. As the investigation deepened, he discovered that the case was actually related to the royal secret treasure "Blue Dragon Broken" that disappeared twenty years ago.
