Mu Yi never dreamed that after spending eight years explaining the Investiture of the Gods, he'd end up being sent into the book by a firework.
The day he transmigrated into the role of a fortune-teller in Chaoge, he glanced at the notice on the city wall: Spring of the seventh year of King Zhou's reign. Di Xin would visit the Nüwa Temple to offer incense.
The great tribulation of the Investiture of the Gods would begin in three months.
He made three rules for himself:
First, stay out of karma: tell only small fortunes, never the great secrets of heaven.
Second, don't pick a side: the Chan and Intercepting Sects were both full of powerful figures. He just wanted to survive.
Third, don't fight head-on: lie low if you can, strike from the shadows if you can, and run if you can.
He managed the first two just fine. The third didn't quite go as planned.
When he saw those who were supposed to make the list dying one by one, he suddenly wanted to try something:
Since he knew the script, could he change a few pages?
And so, a new legend arose during the great war of the Investiture of the Gods:
There was a fortune-teller who specialized in rescuing people from the battlefield, plugging loopholes in the Investiture List, and thwarting the Chan Sect's investigations.
The Three Realms searched for him for eight hundred years, yet couldn't find where he was hiding.
Until one day, the Jade Emperor summoned him. "I know everything you've done."
Mu Yi steeled himself. "Then, Your Majesty..."
The Jade Emperor smiled. "Well done."
