"Echo" plot synopsis
Su Yu, the owner of a dubbing studio, is in a desperate situation: 12 characters will be recast within 72 hours, otherwise he will pay 2 million liquidated damages. At the critical moment, the mysterious man "Misty Rain Jiangnan" transfers 200,000 yuan and recruits top voice actors [Qiang Qingci] and [Slow Voice] to help. The mysterious person turned out to be Lin Yanyu - the songwriter "Ran" who retired five years ago. She was repaying the debt she owed to Su Yu's father for her deceased mother.
As the dubbing task progresses, the old relationship between Lin Yanyu and [Qiang Qingci] comes to the surface. Five years ago, the two missed their appointment due to the death of their respective relatives, and they became strangers ever since. Behind this crisis is the conspiracy of entertainment tycoon Chen Tianxing: he wants to force Lin Yanyu to write songs for him. Lin Yanyu faced off and eventually caught Chen Tianxing and his accomplices. She also returned as "Ran" at the 10th anniversary celebration of Perfect Dubbing, and moved the audience with her song "Rain" written for her mother.
After the storm, Lin Yanyu embarked on a journey to find the people her mother had helped during her lifetime. Traveling through six provinces, she met nineteen people - some of them became doctors, some opened restaurants, but everyone remembered her mother's appearance, what she said, and the songs she hummed. Everyone gave her their thoughts that had been accumulated for many years.
At the end of the journey, Lin Yanyu used these thoughts to establish the "Xiuying Fund" to help more people who encounter difficulties. Mother's kindness is like a pebble thrown into water, and the ripples spread out in circles. She finally understood: some things are longer than sound, longer than life.
