Qingshi Town at the foot of Heilong Mountain is an area as big as a palm, with shabby adobe houses crowded together. On rainy days, the roads are full of mud, and the uppers of shoes can be glued off if you step on them. Most of the people in the town made a living by hunting and carrying goods for passing caravans. They were poor, but they lived a comfortable life. No one thought that a devastating disaster would hit their heads on a night without even a moon.
