Don't Forget to Look Back

Lin Feng, a brilliant chemist at the Provincial Evidence Identification Center of the Longguo Provincial Public Security Department, is the only son of Lin Jianguo, a veteran officer in the Narcotics Squad.

Years ago, the drug lord “Black Crow,” whom Lin Jianguo personally arrested, escaped prison and rebuilt his organization. Seeking revenge, he had Lin Shen kidnapped and forcibly injected with drugs until he became addicted.

Stripped of his identity and imprisoned at a drug-manufacturing den, Lin Shen is torn between the hallucinations of withdrawal and the clarity of his identity as a police officer. Using his chemical expertise, he hides intelligence in drug purity reports and sends the organization’s key information to the outside world through special codes. Guided by a policeman’s instincts and the symbols his son left behind, Lin Jianguo pursues the trail all the way to the border.

Just as the police close in and Black Crow is brought to justice, Lin Shen is injected with a fatal dose of drugs and collapses in his father’s arms. With his last breath, he says, “Dad, I didn’t disgrace you.” His gravestone bears no name.

This is a story about two generations of police officers, a revenge plot, and an unwavering commitment from which there is no turning back. It pays tribute to all the anti-drug heroes who remain unknown to the world.
