Mother is gone. His father, Li Dayou, was a bad talker who never showed any face when he hurt others. He has beaten children, thrown children, and protected children.
The eldest, Jianguo, became a householder at the age of fourteen. There are five younger siblings, the youngest is only four years old.
Over the next forty years, the six children climbed up from the mud and grew into adults of their own appearance. Some people are laid off and ride three wheels, some open restaurants, some work as teachers, and some work as doctors. Times have changed, but the family has not been separated.
