Chen Yilin, a mischievous and lively modern college student, has a secret crush on his classmate Bai Wenjing. After playing basketball one evening, he runs into Bai studying alone. Inspired by her diligence, he decides to get serious and spend the weekend studying at the library. But he falls asleep at his desk and dreams of a ghostly realm. When he wakes, he has transmigrated to Xuandu, a fiefdom in the mid-Shang dynasty, around 1600 BCE, corresponding to the 20th century BCE.
