After restoring the Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains, I traveled back to the Tang and Song Dynasties
Chen Muye, a 28-year-old ancient painting restoration assistant, has been trapped in the regret of failing the postgraduate entrance examination for half his life, and spends his whole life with the remains of ancient paintings.
During a routine unmounting, his fingertips touched the interlayer of "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" that had been moistened and ink seeped. The moment the cold fragrance of azurite green filled his nose, he unexpectedly fell from the museum's restoration table into the Qujiang Pond in the prosperous Kaiyuan era.
The short-cropped clothes were identified as Silla students, the sour rot mixed with Hu merchants were hawking in wine shops, the sweat stains of dancers were covered with thick powder, and the prosperity of the prosperous Tang Dynasty changed from textbook symbols to the real world that is within reach.
Since then, a roll of green landscape has become an anchor of time and space spanning thousands of years.
He personally experienced the beacon fire when Tongguan fell, saw Xuanzong's hasty flight to the west, and remembered the fireworks with Meng Yuan at the Bianjing Night Market. He also witnessed the broken trees of the Zhouqiao Bridge and the weeds of the Fanlou in the Jingkang night market; he encountered people who lived on credit and were anxious about fame. Li Bai saw him rewriting "The Road to Shu Difficult" several times, and at the old site of the Southern Song Dynasty Painting Academy, he met the aging Wang Ximeng. He took over the unfinished green sketch and was asked: "After a thousand years, has the green faded?"
In one day and night in the painting, one hour in the human world, he could not bring modern objects or change the historical situation. He could only see the prosperity and collapse of the Tang and Song Dynasties with the eyes of a restorer, hiding the broken mountains and rivers and the glimmer of civilization one by one in his heart.
When the authentic painting of the Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains was about to go overseas, and the hidden danger of aging of the frame hung on the ceiling, Chen Muye finally took up writing, using the restoration and discovery as a guide, and turned his personal experience of traveling for thousands of years into a confession of the mountains and rivers.
