In the 1960s, the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union was in full swing. The British colonies were in turmoil, and the fighting between the left and right wings in Southeast Asia was in full swing. And on that land, a long adjustment is quietly underway.
He was a small figure who smuggled over from the mainland during the wave of people fleeing Hong Kong. He made his fortune through smuggling and mixed in both black and white.
On the surface, he surrendered to the British and served as a pawn for the colonial government; he colluded with right-wing forces to deliver military supplies to the US military, and made a lot of money on the Vietnam battlefield. The British Hong Kong government regards him as a loyal dog, the Americans regard him as a useful pawn, and the right-wing forces regard him as a reliable partner.
Secretly, he contacted the blocked country in the north. The stolen gold, silver and jewels flowed from his hands to the dreaming land; those patriots who returned to the country for the rise of the nation were smuggled back to the country through his hands.
He is a two-faced man.
He is a right-wing traitor.
He is a speculator who survives in the cracks of the times.
He is also an ordinary person who stands in his own way in the tide of the times.
The gunfire between North and South Vietnam, the riots in Brunei, the tearing apart of Malaya, the fight between the left and right wings... When the storm sweeps across the Southeast Asia, which side will this spurned "traitor" stand on?
This is a story about betrayal and loyalty, speculation and faith.

At first, I was very puzzled by reading a bunch of garbled Cantonese, which affected my reading experience, until I saw the northern representative later, if it was not Cantonese, he would be in the palace, haha😃
It looks a bit like Hong Kong, it's a little later in Huo's time
Well enough! Keep up the good work! Finished reading it in one go
