From finding mutual redemption while repeating a school year, to the sweetness of falling in love at university, and then facing their parents' objections when they discuss marriage, the five-year romance between Xia Shu and Guo Miao ends in regret.
Three years later, Xia Shu reunites with Zhang Yang, a kind and strong high school classmate, and marries him. Though they face difficulties having a child, they find steady happiness after adopting a daughter.
By chance, Xia Shu runs into Guo Miao again. A young woman doggedly follows him, but he has never returned her feelings.
After all their twists and turns, Xia Shu and Zhang Yang spend their lives together, while Guo Miao also finds peace and contentment. Everyone finds their own happy ending in life.
