The time of Daqian does not flow linearly, but is based on the cycle of "sacrifice cycle". Whenever social conflicts reach a critical point, the Daqian royal family will launch the "Extermination of Household Sacrifice" to reset social entropy through large-scale massacres of lower-class people (euphemistically called: offering sacrifices to gods in exchange for good weather). During the sacrifice, time will be partially distorted, which is called "shadow engraving", that is, one hour in reality, and several days may have passed in the shadow engraving to process those indescribable "divine foods".
