Synopsis

A Story of Minglan fanfic, original male lead, Liu Ji paired with Sheng Molan

Also known as The Villainess Molan’s Rise to Power

Sheng Molan has always known exactly what she wants: a high-status marriage, power, and a place above everyone else.

Liu Ji, the only son of the Minister of Revenue, wields power throughout the court and loves both men and women. Yet somehow, he falls for this calculating young concubine-born girl.

The first time he sees her, she is peeking from behind a curtain at the market, her sharp eyes like those of a little fox.

The second time, she stumbles out from behind a screen, looking disheveled but defiant.

Who knows how many times he has seen her by now? She kneels in a bamboo grove, covered in dust, her voice trembling. “Please, my lord, take me in.”

He scares her, humiliates her, and watches her tremble as she cries. Then...

He pulls her into his arms.

“From now on, stay by my side without fear.”

She thinks it is a transaction, only to discover later that it is for life.

He pulls her out of the mire and places her at the center of his heart.

Some say their marriage began with scheming and ended in exploitation.

But who has ever seen Minister Liu warm bird’s nest soup for his wife in the middle of the night?

Who has seen him dismiss all his concubines for her?

Who has seen him hold their son and teach him to write the character for “blessing,” saying, “This is what Xu’er wrote, and this is the plum blossom your mother added”?

Sheng Molan will not be redeemed.

The original villainess x a scheming, powerful minister. (The male lead is no good person.) It begins with scheming and ends in indulgence.

[Derived from the original story, married couple, one-to-one romance. Content warning: the male lead is not chaste.]
